  Nov.11,2000: IMPORTANT UPDATES

...MAJOR DECISIONS ABOUT NETWORK
   After considerable reflection I
have decided not to revive "Chapel
Perilous Live" in any form. There
were so many problems with doing a
live discussion like this with new
people unused to being on radio or
sticking to a program schedule, it
has become clear that transferring
a "private" discussion group which
has met by phone for years to web-
radio is impractical. Few people,
no matter how capable, can quickly
adapt to the radio medium, yet I'd
assumed seven shows should provide
sufficient "practice" for us to be
able to do a professional job. But
I was wrong. The program actually
got worse as time went by. At the
end I was forced to do everything,
four hours of non-stop talking and
no real input from the rest of the
"team".... It was wearing me out.
I had one more show to do and then
I was going to change to a shorter
format with one other person along
to help. If you heard the shows--
and few of you were able to--you'd
be hard put to blame me for having
to change course. Before I could
do anything to reconfigure things,
the plug was pulled on the network
hurting many people besides me. So
for now, I plan to wait for awhile
before my next webcasting venture.
I hope you will all understand. In
the mean time, I'm on the radio on
Bill's shows half dozen times each
month (8 times this month) and you
can find new items on this website
almost every week.

...THE BYTE SHOW IS BACK!
Great news! The Byte Show is on
the air again! You can listen live
on Sundays again at the same times
as before: 4pm-5pm ET/1pm-2pm PT.
The live link is on the left......

...NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS:
As we begin the transition to a
revised audio format, we will have
an e-mail address for your ideas &
reactions, questions & suggestions
or complaints. Do not expect fast
replies. Sometimes the reply will
be given here or on the "Schedule"
or "News&Updates" pages. We try to
read all your e-mails, but may not
be able to reply drectly to all.

 chapelpetra @ linuxfreemail.com
 (Unfortunately, I can't answer
    e-mail while on the air.)

...CHANGING DIRECTION
Because of a growing number of
problems with LIVE streaming shows
(see story below), Chapel Perilous
has decided that it is best to not
do a LIVE 4-hour show but to shift
our efforts to an on-demand system
if we can set one up that works &
is not overly expensive. "LIVE" is
a luxury we cannot afford, and has
not lived up to its promises. Our
plan is to make original programs,
upload them to a website, and have
you download them for listening at
your convenience.

...THE BYTE SHOW (some good news)
   The interviews are mind-blowing
and the guests impressive. You are
going to be surprised by "THE BYTE
SHOW" It is hosted by a lady with
over a decade of internet computer
experience who uses Linux and that
unmentionable "other" OS.... Geek
revolutionaries speak out! Show is
going to cover variety of hot new
technology topics. RETURNS OCT 22!

...CHAPEL PERILOUS live show ends.
We have had so many problems in
getting our team to participate on
our Saturday night program that it
is becoming a one person monologue.
I simply can't do four hours alone
every week. I'm thinking a SHORTER
format would be more practical, if
I am the only person talking. The
team is usually VERY talkative, if
they are not live on the air; then
they got real shy when we began on
web-radio. I am NOT blaming them.
It was an "experimental" format in
many ways. Most of the team had no
actual "on air" experience. A few
had schedule conflicts, which kept
six people off this show at times.
I was the only on-air person to do
all seven shows. We tried hard to
give you the best shows possible--
but I just don't have the stamina,
or the voice, to do 4 hours at one
stretch, and besides it's just bad
radio, likely to put people into a
deep sleep. In fact, one of us who
had worked 16-hour shifts in order
to be with us, did nod off!

...ADS NOW ACCEPTED FOR SHOWS
In spite of these problems, we
WILL accept ads for future program
or past program spots. Older shows
will eventually be archived again,
and ads can be inserted in places.

We are now accepting ads to run
either on these pages and/or to be
read "on the air" during shows. So
send inquiries by e-mail to:

     thebyteshow@zianet.com.
               or
  chapelpetra@linuxfreemail.com

NEW DIRECTIONS [revised Oct.21,2000]

RESULTS OF SURVEY SO FAR:
No one objects to advertising or
having a fee for each show. We would
like feedback on this cost. If you
think $2-$4/hour is acceptable or if
you would not personally pay it, or
whatever your views, please e-mail
me right now with your reaction:

   chapelpetra@linuxfreemail.com

[This is one of a new series of
comunications I will be making in
regard to our new multi-media effort
that will add an additional level of
internet capabilities to what we are
now doing.]

For nearly four years, I've been
on the radio, being interviewed and
guest-hosting frequently, but having
no actual show on my own. Previously,
I had public-speaking, audio-tape &
publishing exposure for about 35 yrs
or so. I've also produced some video
tapes and even worked a bit in film.
So I see the internet as more than
pages of printed text, and I'm eager
to explore its potential.

The internet should enable you to
select the media you wish to use for
receipt of information: Text, images,
live or archived audio or video, or
any combination, plus the option to
download and transfer to CD, MP-3 or
audio/video tape or to print-out, or
to order books, tapes, and/or CD's,
or other deliverable media and items
you can hold in your hands and take
with you as you walk or travel.

The solution I am considering is
having live streaming audio you can
listen to for free, but with ads to
support it. In addition, you could
pay a reasonable 1-TIME-ONLY fee to
access password pages where there
would be free text content and some
limited advertising. The password
would also allow you to order--for
a small fee--audio, video, print or
other materials, some you instantly
download, some sent by mail (plus
cost of producing, packaging and
shipping).[IT WILL NOT BE 'LIVE' AS
SUCH, BUT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO HEAR
OUR PROGRAMS WHENEVER YOU WANT.]

   I've been selling such materials
by mail for a decade, as you may be
aware, and could expand some of the
offerings with credit-card or other
services for added convenience.

You can let me know by sending
your ideas ON ONE SIDE OF ONE PAGE
(double-spaced if typing, please),
to the box below:

      HAGE PRODUCTIONS
      P.O. Box 427
      Brunswick, ME 04027

      Your ideas cannot be returned,
   nor necessarily acknowledged, but
all will be tabulated. If you do
   not respond, another could decide
these matters for you. This will
be your chance to be heard. Your
responses will be totaled and the
results published here. I will be
   grateful for any suggestions, but
the four questions above now have
   my primary interest.

As a reward for participating, I
will drop the $4 S+H fee on orders of
each of the following 4 audio tapes,
and reduce the price even further if
you order all 4 tapes at once:

SECRETS OF PETRA(1 90-min tape)$ 8.95
THRONE OF SATAN ON MARS(2tapes)$14.95
PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE?(1tape)$ 8.95
ALL 4 OF THE ABOVE TAPES: $29.95
(Regularly up to $44.85 with S+H)

These 4 90-minute audio tapes total
6 hours of information not found even
on the web-site. But if you want them,
you should know the inventory for each
one is down to a few dozen: First come,
first served.

   HAGE PRODUCTIONS
   P.O. Box 427
   Brunswick, ME 04011

Let me take this opportunity to
thank you all for helping.

And please pray for us and this
new endeavor.
